Speak like a human

I thought about how people greet one another in the context of welcoming a new member into a group. I purposefully used howdy and plain speak to have a more natural welcome as opposed to the existing automated system tone.

Business casual

Although the illustrations were well received, they were not part of the Office 365 brand. With those restrictions in mind, I quickly created a graphic system of a one-color pattern paired with an icon (shown below right). It was the result of experimenting with overlaying the same color with different opacity blend modes. It was a small win for visual excitement because it was also used across the Office 365 brand.
